Temporarily Turn Off Mint

We are having some problems with our site (including extremely slow page loads) and we are disabling various scripts to see which one might be causing the problem.

What is the preferred method to temporarily disable Mint without doing an uninstall/reinstall? I’d like to be able to stop Mint for a few minutes, test some pages, then turn it back on again.

Just remove the Mint Javascript from your pages, then add it back after testing.

If you’d like to do some testing without disabling Mint, I’d grab Firebug for Firefox. There is a handy performance tool in there that should show you what’s slowing your site down.

We use the “php_value auto_prepend_file” method via htaccess to add the Javascript. I’ll try removing that line from htaccess…

The reason our site had slowed down to a molasses-like pace had nothing to do with Mint. The chief muckamucks at our ISP, in their infinite wisdom, decided to change the way the nameservers resolved our domain. I don’t have the details but they changed it back, and now life is sweet.
