Over the past week, out of the blue, Secret Crush has been very slow (2-3x slower) to load. This occurred without any change in the config on my end. I then upgraded to Mint 2.1 without any improvement.
my database size is 24MB (same as before). is there something i should checkup on?
When Secret Crush is set to display hostnames (instead of IPs or visitor names) it has to do a reverse lookup of the hostname using the IP. This lookup requires contacting a DNS. If the DNS or network between your server and the DNS is sluggish and the hostname/IP pair hasn’t been previously cached by Mint then you will see some sluggishness.
Relatedly, if you have increased the number of rows contained within a pane, each additional row potentially introduces another lookup that will further delay loading of the Crushes pane.
