I have seen on many occasions where a search referral is not shown in the list of most recent secret crush visitors.
Example - a user arrives at my site looking for “Foo Biscuits” and the search pepper shows this as well as how long ago the referral took place. When I read through the Secret Crush most recent visitors, the session is not listed.
I do not know if there are random missing sessions, or just ones that come in by referral. The search ones are the only ones I am aware of for sure.
Is your Secret Crush configured to display only Named visitors?
If the visitor isn’t accepting cookies Secret Crush can’t track their session. Mint will still record the search referral but the visitor will not show up in the Crushes pane.
I have it set up as name/hostname/IP. I also have enabled an additional tracking term that pulls something from the wordpress cookie.
The no cookies explanation sounds plausible. It seems like this happens often enough that the statistics don’t match.
Anyway, just a heads up.
