Multiple Subdomain Tracking

Hi,

I recently purchased Mint after reading lots of good stuff about it.

Currently I’m using Google Analytics to track various subdomains:

blog.reprap.org, builders.reprap.org, forums.reprap.org, and reprap.org

I got Mint to do tracking for all of them in aggregate, however I was wondering if Mint can do both aggregate (all domains total stats) and also break them down into individual domains.

Thanks in advance, Zach Smith

No, Mint can only track them in aggregate or separately (with a license for each installation) but not both.

any plans to do this in the future?

ideally, i’d like to only have one JS include in each page to speed things up, then be able to view both the aggregate data as well as be able to break it down by site.

if there was a way to do this, i think i would be willing to buy licenses for each subdomain. it doesnt seem like anyone really offers this functionality.

No, there are no plans to add this feature. You cannot add multiple Mint JavaScript includes to the same page. The Mint installations will interfere with each other and none will be able to accurately report Visits.

would it be possible to create a Pepper that would allow you to limit the stats shown to a particular subdomain? i havent looked at the backend at all, but if its recording what domain the hit was for then it might be possible, right?

There is currently no way for one Pepper to modify the output or database queries of other Pepper so this isn’t possible. There aren’t any plans to add this ability either since it would be a support nightmare if any Pepper could interfere with any other Pepper.

The above was written over two years ago. I am wondering if nowadays it IS possible, or that it now will be a feature in the near future.

This because I would also like to be able to track the subdomains seperately, as wel as all pages put together.

Thanks :)

Nothing has changed.

Okay. Thanks.

i currently have 2 mint installations to track 2 sites on 1 domain.

is it possible to only have one pepper/mint directory let mint query 2 databases?

this would result in less used space and i wouldn’t have to update peppers twice.

While I don’t support this configuration it is possible. Implementation is left as an exercise for the user.
