Secret Crush no longer tracking IPs

I use Secret Crush (2.06) on two sites to track visits by IP hostname/IP address. After upgrading to 2.04 a few days ago, Secret Crush doesn’t update.

I’ll see visits in Referrers, Pages, etc., just not Secret Crush. I get a lot of repeat traffic so I’m wondering if maybe I’m just not seeing non-unique IPs anymore? Previously, if I viewed SC by “Most Recent,” I would view a list of IPs regardless if they were unique or not.

If anyone needs more info, please let me know. Thanks.

I should add that I upgraded User Agent 007 to 2.01 as well as Mint to 2.04.

Ok, it seems as if it’s still tracking unique IPs, but not repeat ones. Previously Secret Crush would track every IP, not only unique ones, unless I was mistaken. I get a bunch of hits in Pages and Searches, but they’re not reflected in Secret Crush.

Anyone?

Sorry to say this: I’m facing the same issues but don’t know a way to fix it.

I think you could add me to this list.

The Visits tab tracks hits, but other tabs, like Pages, Referrers, and Real Estate do not. It’s been two days now—maybe since I’ve updated to Mint 2.04?

Is there some way to turn on debugging, to see if there are any errors?

Did Secret Crush completely stop tracking all IPs, or does it only miss them every now and then?

I don’t know about the others, but at first it seemed as if it stopped tracking all IPs; now it appears as if it’s only not tracking uniques. Either way, it’s hard to get a handle on exactly what’s happening … I’m having trouble find a pattern. All I know for sure is that it worked great up ‘til the last updates.

I may be having the same problem here: haveamint.com/forum/troubleshooting/452 … ween_panes

I can tell that secret crush isn’t tracking certain IPs cause I can see the unique visits go up in the Visits pane or Session Tracker pane, but they don’t show up in the Crushes pane. It’s an intermittent thing though, and I can’t tell what the common thing is between skipped IPs.

I’ll stop updating in that thread to consolidate the threads, and post here if I can figure anything out.

I have the same issue. Most of the unique visitors arent tracked. This started happening a few days ago, worked fine before and I havent touched a thing.

This is likely the result of a change made to Mint 2.04 to address a similar problem some were having. It seems like the fix has created an identical problem for others who previously weren’t experiencing this issue.

For anyone experiencing this problem please download Mint 2.03 and replace your existing /mint/app/paths/record/ directory with the one from Mint 2.03 until I can resolve the issue.

Thanks Shaun. Works now.

i have replaced the folder record in my mint 2.04 with the one from mint 2.03 but it still not tracking uniques. please let me know if have to install mint 2.03 or mint 2.04 with record folder from mint 2.03 just to be clear on this front. thanx

I didn’t have any luck when replacing the record folder.

But after I removed most of the installed peppers it started recording things other than visits again. There must have been a problem with the peppers when I upgraded.

For anyone still experiencing this problem, please check out the new Debugger Pepper. Install the Pepper then email me your Debugger url and I’ll take a look.

I’m posting this to let Shaun know of another instance of the problem.

After two months of using Mint our site has had fairly regular totals for each day of the week. I updated from 2.03 to 2.04 this past Sunday and our unique visits instantly took a dive but the total visits increased. The ratio of unique visits to total visits is usually about 1 to 1.4. After the upgrade it went from 1 to 2.4. We usually get our highest number of uniques and total visits on Mondays, averaging about 14 to 15k. Uniques slumped this past Monday to 10k for the first time since we started using Mint. But total visits went up to 24k for Monday — a record since we started using Mint.

I found this thread Tuesday morning and immediately replaced the app/paths/record directory with the 2.03 version from a backup. Mint quickly returned to normal, with today’s totals approximating a normal Tuesday.

If we update to 2.05 will we need to re-install the /mint/app/paths/record/ directory from 2.03, or is this fix included in the 2.05 update?

i upgraded to 2.05 today hoping that it fixed this issue from 2.04. didn’t seem to. so now i have 2.05 with parts of 2.03 in it. making me wonder if i ever should have upgraded to 2.0 in the first place.

An alternate fix is provided in the update to 2.05.

well, my total vs unique seems to be highly off again. just as it was when i upgraded to 2.04. putting 2.03 record folder seemed to fix it, now on 2.05 it seems to be off again and not collecting all unique visitors.

Install the Debugger Pepper and send me a link to your debugger. Include a link to this topic too.
