Visits/Pages not being tracked properly

Hi,

I set up mint last week and have been doing some testing on it today. It appears that mint is not tracking visits properly in that every page I visit is being counted as a new visit. Doesn’t make sense. Should it not track them under the same visit? So, instead of 1 visit with 12 pages viewed, I’m basically getting, 12 visits with 1 page viewed within each visit. Any suggestions?

It doesn’t seem to happen all the time. I’ve got the secret crush installed and it shows me the following info under recent:

Pages | Who/Where

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

8 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

1 | 89.234.93.xxx

Same IP is just repeated, when I presume it should look like:

Pages | Who/Where

19 | 89.234.93.xxx

Quite strange. Can anyone help?

Also, is there a way of displaying the total pages viewed by day, week, month, year with graph similar to the visits pane? Surprised this is not there or maybe I’m blind! Thanks in advance,

Dave

Are you running the latest version of mint (2.04)? I used to have the same issues but since the release of 2.04 these problems have almost gone away completely.

Did that only get released? I have 2.03. I’ll install and see if it fixes it! Thanks! :D

@davidbehan — A couple of people have reported this problem. Please refer to this thread.

@Fenicle — I’m running 2.04, but still having the same issues. What was your upgrade process? Did you replace the entire application, or just the app directory?

It appears to be working for me now. I followed the upgrade instructions in the readme file. Now when I go to the site it tracks my visit under the “unique” heading and the amount of pages I visit under the “total” heading. Am I right in saying that? The secret crushes seem to be working fine now too. Visited a few pages and it is grouping the pages under the one ip heading and giving a proper total. Thanks! :D

I completely started fresh and uninstalled/renistalled Mint, and hits appear to be tracking correctly. I believe that my previous XXX Strong Mint installation may have corrupted my database.

Jeff N - Yes I just replaced the ‘app’ directory as outlined in the readme.

I still have a few entries now and then that aren’t being grouped, but I’m not sure sure if it’s Mint or something specific with a user. I need to start looking for similarities and see if there is a common element.

Right now I’m just happy that it works correctly 99% of the time.
