Do spider visits & search referrers count as a ‘seed’?
Spiders that index feeds will follow links in a feed. Is Bird Feeder smart enough to ignore known spiders from its tally? What about blog search engines that use entry links seeded with a tracking link via the feeder folder?
Whenever I post a new entry, I see a bunch of hits immediately to it under the Seeds pane, presumably from spiders that just got pinged, even though I publish a full content feed, so this leads me to believe that Bird Feeder does not make that distinction.
In my opinion, a seed should only count if it’s an actual human clicking on a link in your feed. Search engine referrals should just count as a normal hit to that page.
