Pepper installation

Hello - we are a new Mint user, and having installed the “basic” mint I have now started exploring the available Pepper. I started with an “official” one - “directories”. Downloaded it, uploaded to the correct directory as per instructions, went into the preferences screen and installed it successfully, so it tells me, then pressed on the “Okay” button.

So now what? My Mint screen loks exactly the same as it did before, with no directories pane. There are no disabled panes showing in preferences, I checked that.

What have I done wrong?

You probably have the permissions set wrong. Directories need to be ugo+rx and files generally need to be ugo+r

Rusty,

Thanks for replying.

However, I’ve checked all files and directories in /mint and I have these permissions set already.

No-one have any other ideas?

Thanks.

Roger

I’m having exactly the same issue. I can’t install any new Peppers.

They are shown in the Preferences under install. I push install and get taken back to my Mint page but with no new Pepper in sight.

Thanks

David

I was hoping for some kind of idea by now. I need my mint but its not working for peppers. Surely other people are having this issue as well ?
