i’m hoping that shaun can answer this question after the weekend or if anyone else knows, please chime in.
i’m doing an A/B split test using google website optimizer (GWO) on a client’s site. the issue is that mint is reporting wildly inaccurate hourly statistics for unique visitors. it’s worth noting that google hourly visits page was always higher than mint’s unique visits by the hour but the variance was never high and the daily totals were always within a 3% variance or less when comparing mint to google’s absolute unique visits. even with the hourly inaccuracy, mint’s daily totals are still reporting correctly within the 3% variance i previously mentioned.
my question is, could it be possible that the google website optimizer script is interfering with mint tracking unique visitors correctly on an hourly rate? the test we’re running has seven page variations that visitors are randomly taken to, i’m wondering if this may account for hourly the issue?
