Mint stopped tracking

Mint stopped tracking around noon today. I have not made any changes to my site and I’m at a loss as to where to look. I thought maybe there was a change on my server so I asked them and they said:

“I’m afraid you are the second person on two different servers to have the same problem. The problem is not with your code or our servers from what I can tell, but with Mint’s tracking system. You should contact them directly, it appears that they are having some type of an outage.”

Is there some central server that mint requires to operate?

i am having the same problem. my mint stopped tracking at about 2pm EST. i have tried to update my MINT files and i only use the default Pepper.

i would like to add i have not made any changes to my site. it was working fine earlier today and then all of a sudden nothing.

Yeah, I’m in the central timezone so mine stopped at around the same time. Are you on Hostgator by chance?

YES! hostgator. i was thinking of contacting them as well. have u?

Yes, their response is in my first post.

duh! lmao sorry. i see it. i sent a support email thru the contact form. maybe shaun can get back to me soon.

I too have sites hosted at HostGator and Mint stopped tracking at 2pm EST today (Thursday, July 1st).

Hopefully an answer and fix can be found soon.

I got the same problem too! Mint stopped tracking my site http://sparklette.net on July 2 around 2am (UTC+8). No changes were made to the site during that time.

Did an uninstall/reinstall but it doesn’t work. Code is installed correctly. I am baffled.

Using Mint 2.18 and WordPress 3. I’m not on Hostgator.

I’m troubleshooting the same problem for a friend, who also uses Hostgator. As for your original question - “Is there some central server that mint requires to operate?” - no, not as far as I’m aware, at least not in terms of normal reporting.

There is a link between your Mint installation and their update server, but on my friend’s installation this works fine. You can test this using the following query command:

http://path-to-mint/?gateway

In short then, I think this is definitely something that’s been caused by Hostgator.

I’m with HostGator also and I’m having the same problem. Problem started same time as people report above.

FIXED:

I did a live chat with Hostgator and told them the problem. They fixed it, here is the message I rec’d from Tech Support.

“I have whitelisted the mod_security rule(s) for you. Apache is restarting, it should be back online in a few moments. Please double check that the script is working as intended.”

thanks Tallahassee! it works now.

Yep, fixed here to. Kind of a bummer that it was on their end and they immediately dismissed that possibility.

mine is not fixed yet

http://forums.hostgator.com/re-deployed … 74963.html Is where the forum post regarding the update. I got on chat with support and it was fixed in an instant.

ok, i’m not with host gator but this issue matches what is happening to me with host monster.

i installed a new installation of mint today and it was fine for the first six hours and suddenly as i started adding peppers to the installation, it stopped working. i’m not sure if the pepper installation was the issue though.

i uninstalled the installation and re-installed it and i’m having the exact same issue. i’m not able to track visitors with a bare installation.

does anyone have any ideas?

disregard this request, i think i may have found the problem.

Hey wendell, any updates on what problems you were having?

Ok. I’m new to wordpress and hostgator (long story short, my sister has set me up on her hosting).

I’ve installed mint and it doesn’t seem to be tracking any hits… just like the issue you guys describe here.

However support won’t assist me without a 403 - permission denied error.

Any ideas?

Ooh and if you’d like to hit my website so i can actually test it… http://exploringphotographytips.com

Thanks

No one?

I’m not with hostgator either, and my Mint stop tracking the last three days as well. :(

Tracking a self installed WordPress 3.1 install.
