Visits: Total vs Unique

Does “visits” show the number of page requests (hits)?

It would be more logical if 1 visit = 1 session (which ends after 7min of inactivity).

Here is my situation:

I have a one-page website with some outbound links. A user follows an outbound links, then go back to my site and follow another link, etc, go back, etc.

So if they follow 5 outbound links and then hit the Back button 5 times this is represented as 5 visits in the Visits pane. I believe this should be represented as 1 visit (since it’s within the 7min session).

A Unique visit, in my opinion, should be Unique visitors.

Sorry for my English :)
