installing mint on a subdomain

I recently moved mint to mint.mydomain.com/mint so I could get around an .htaccess issue in EE. I didn’t care about keeping the tracking data from before so I decided to do a fresh install since there was a new version available. When I log in to the new site I the peppers begin to load but most of them have a login form and then I’m forced back out to the main login screen. I can get to the preferences but no changes seem to help. Nothing I’ve found yet helps me solve this problem. I know you can install mint to a subdomain but why is mine not working?

There’s probably a conflict with your login cookies from when Mint was hosted on the primary domain. Delete any MintAuth cookies from your domain or subdomain (including the domains with leading . and www.) then try logging in again.
