Mint Login is Bombing Mac Firefox... anyone else?

I have successfully transitioned to Mint v2 and have been able to successfully login and see all the new goodness. BUT a few days ago, whenever I go to the Mint login page and try to login the page hangs on submit and the cpu pins and the fans start to come on. This has happened on two different computers… both Macs… both running Firefox 2.0.0.1… and OS X 10.4.8.

Any ideas? I can no longer see the glory that is my mintiness. Please help!

Marc

It looks like you are using an older version of the Prank Pepper which is causing a problem setting cookies.

If the problem persists, login directly to your Preferences (yourdomain.com/mint/?preferences) and try the following one at a time,:

  • Disable any third-party Pepper panes (one at a time)
  • Check “Only show Named visitors” under Secret Crush
  • Uncheck “Collapse vertical whitespace”
  • Uncheck “Stagger pane loading”

You could also visit your Mint installation with ?errors added to the end of your url, that might provide some more clues.

Let us know what you find.

Do you have the quicktime check pepper installed, that was causing trouble with 2 of my installs.

Yeah, Prank was the culprit. Thanks for the tip. Hadn’t noticed it was not yet optimized for DoubleMint.
