Double checking my Google code in the auto.php

Hi - I just wanted to check I have my Google Anayltics code correctly formatted in my auto.php file. It seems right and seems to be working, but I’d like to use the hive mind to check. I have this all on one unbroken line (I’ve changed the Google ID of course):

$mint = '<script src="/mint/?js" type="text/javascript"> <script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> try { var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-0000000-1"); pageTracker._trackPageview(); } catch(err) {}</script>';

Hmm. Google analytics flatlined, so that’s obviously incorrect.

Shaun, above the menu headings FAQs | Forum | Contact, where you have the grayed-out text “Help Yourself,” in the interest of open disclosure, you should amend that text to read “Help Yourself (Because No One Else Will).”

This database application has a slick interface and the plug-in concept is a great one but, in the end, those who don’t have a working knowledge of PHP will not be able to tap into its full potential because there is absolutely no documentation (other than how to install it, in addition to several admonishments about how no one will receive a refund) or technical support—and that’s a damn shame.

Makes me marvel at the folks who run LimeSurvey.org. Their outstanding PHP database application is fully and clearly documented in Wikipedia format and they have an active support forum. The truly remarkable thing is that payment for this fantastic online survey application is completely optional (in the form of a donation).

I have also developed a new-found respect for Mehmet Ozekinci, the author of the Wordpress Gabfire themes, who—two hours after receiving a request for technical support—is inside your Wordpress installation making whatever customizations you have requested. And he does so without hitting you up for more money or lamenting, like the developer of WSNLinks, how disappointed and angry he is over not having been able to make an adequate living on his mediocre link directory application.

I guess when it comes to software written by private developers, such as WSNLinks and Mint, it’s a real hit or miss type of situation after purchase.

What truly surprises me though is how no one has been previously motivated (i.e., annoyed enough) to forewarn others (in a blog post for example) about the absence of any documentation and technical support for Mint.

If you can’t find an answer in the community-supported Forum use the Contact form. It’s as simple as that. There’s no need to admonish those that would help you.
