Can't watch pages

Hi,

I’ve looked through the forum & unfortunately, none of the previous “Can’t watch” threads seem to solve my problem.

I’m running Mint v2.16, & the latest Pages pepper (as far as I can tell, Mint isn’t telling me to update). When I click the ‘+’ beside a page I want to watch, all that happens is the ‘+’ turns to an ‘x’. When I go to view my watched pages, it says I don’t have any. Going back to the ‘Most popular’ pane shows that I have no watched pages.

I’m not getting any Javascript errors, and I don’t think I’m seeing anything I shouldn’t when looking at Firebug.

  • I’ve got Mint installed on the domain as what I’m tracking.
  • My website is running a custom CMS that redirects all traffic to non-existent files, to index.php.
  • I’ve added an .htaccess file with ‘RewriteEngine Off’ in the Mint directory.

Mint installation is here: augustana.ca/mint

Thanks.

Based on your mention of Firebug I am going to assume that you’re using Firefox. Have you tried watching a page in another browser? (To see if we can rule out browser error.)

It worked for me:

Firefox 3.0.1 MacOSX 10.5.4 (Leopard)

Mint 2.16
= User Agent 007 Pepper 2.04

What I did In the centre column of the preferences page I clicked on “Pages” and Went to the bottom of the Third Column where there were two links “Watch” and “Unwatch”, I bookmarked “Watch” and went to my site where I used that bookmark to Add the Watch to my Watch list.

It was a bit difficult to figure out at first.

Other Information: I have ModRewrite on directing everything but a few things to an index.php file where it figures out what to do with it.

This just started happening to me within the last week - I’ve tried in multiple browsers (FF3, Safari) and I can no longer watch a page from within Mint nor using the favelet.

Nothing changed in my Mint installation during that time, and I don’t believe anything changed in my Wordpress installation either (all other watched pages are still being watched, I’m only having problems with pages I’ve wanted to watch starting within the last week).

Please see this thread for a solution.

Sorry about not responding earlier - work got the better of me.

Anyway Shaun, I updated the 3 _checksum columns to be unsigned, deleted all the data from the table, but I am still unable to watch pages. I’ve tried in Firefox, IE, and Safari (all for Windows).

I’m not accessing Mint via https, nor is it listening to a subdomain different from what Mint is running on.
