Hi,

I have a problem activating my mint-installation. I deleted my table in the MySQL database, removed the files and installed it new from scratch.

The problem still exist. What is curios: Mint works for more than 1 year on another domain on the same server at my 1st Domain. But, from today I get this message:

”* Could not connect to Gateway (using cURL): name lookup timed out Please see this FAQ for assistance.”

Of course I checked this FAQ, but nothing on the server has changed since a long time.

My fresh installation shows me this message while trying to activate Mint for the 2nd Domain:

“Could not connect to Gateway (using cURL): name lookup timed out Please see this FAQ for assistance.” (ok - the same message).

I run PHP5 and a MySQL4 Server with an Apache 2 Web-Server.

Hope you’ve an idea how to fix it :)

Ciao Dennis

Are you certain that your host hasn’t changed anything? That they haven’t added a firewall to your server?

I was just able to successfully test activate your fresh installation (I didn’t proceed with the installation). I recommend trying again now. It is very likely that the FAQ was correct and that this was an instance of intermittent network downtime between our two servers.

Hi Shaun,

thank you very much for activating it. Now (of course) it works :)

I will talk to the support of the datacenter if they’ve made changes…

Thank you!

Ciao Dennis

Hi. I’ve been having the exact same problem. i’ve been running mint on two other domains from godaddy for years (and installed it for two clients, also hosted by godaddy).

for my latest project, i of course didn’t hesitate to add another mint license, and now i can’t activate… (i get that same “Could not connect to Gateway (using cURL):…” message).

any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m running on a goddady account with PHP5 and MySQL5

Thank You. Timo.

Timo, I would recommend running the Mint Server Compatibility Suite on the new domain and see the previously linked FAQ for assistance as any problem that can be detected by the SCS before purchase is not supported (because there is nothing I can do about the issues it detects).

I see. silly me just assumed that it wouldn’t be a problem… so I guess I’m gonna try my luck with godaddy support… should be a fun afternoon.

thanks shaun. Timo.

just to post a quick update: godaddy couldn’t really help… i waited… tried again today… and it just worked..! yay!
