upgrading to 2.0 killed my mint

I had 1.2x installed previously and loved it.. I saw the ‘upgrade available’ button today and got all excited to see what was new.. I upgraded my license and went to install.. initially I copied over my peppers from the old install and started seeing issues.. so deleting the mint files and unpacking from the zip again I attempt to set up from scratch.. i accept the agreement.. enter my info.. then i get a blank screen for the index.. I could go to the prefs panel.. but none of the pepper stuff showed up.. I attempted to clear out the db.. no use.. I added a new prefix for the db.. same result.. moved from mint to minty dir.. same result.. every time i log in and go to index.php I get a blank page.. hitting refresh.. it prompts me to accept the agreement again..

I was even so desperate to fix it that I went and bought another license hoping to just start over.. same result.. I still have my db with past visits but i’m missing everything from today.. I also did a backup prior to install but I can’t seem to find the files and/or fear i lost them when i attempted to uninstall.. feeling so lost.. someone please help!

btw.. using firefox 2.01 and also tried ie7 under vista..

did anyone else see a issue like this?

What issues did you see after the initial update? Also which Mint installation are you talking about? I see you have three but I can’t seem to figure out which one is the problem one. (You can just leave the first letter of the domain, I’ll figure out from that.)

lay…com

After the initial upgrade when going to prefs.. it said all of my peppers were messed up so i tried to delete them via the uninstall buttons and once i got them removed i just started getting a blank page.. also i can’t figure out why every time i go to index.php i get the please accept the terms/conditions page and must re-enter the user data.. I verified in the db that its all entered.. I was able to get 1.2x put back on my server so its working temporarily but I really want to get 2.0 up..

if you want me to move it back to 2.0 i can do that so you can see the issues if it helps..

i installed 2.0 on a different db so i could have both up.. its in minty\ vs 1.2x in mint\ with old stats/setup

once i enter the user info on minty\ i get a blank page.. hitting refresh.. it brings me back to the first setup screen again.. rinse.. repeat..

Are you trying to install Mint 2 with third-party Pepper in the /pepper/ directory? Have you tried it with only the default Official Pepper just to see if the problem persists—since you’re installing on another database anyway?

Try installing from /minty/?errors instead of just /mint/ as well. Mint should spit out some errors instead of going blank.

makes more sense with the errors.. cleaning up most of them now.. I see this on the ‘how to install’ page which follows user creation..

where it says to configure the php_module portion..

addType application/x-httpd-php .html .htm php_value auto_prepend_file

Notice: Undefined index: PATH_TRANSLATED in /usr/…/htdocs/minty/app/lib/mint.php on line 2375

I’m guessing that’s not part of the stuff i need to add to .htaccess

any ideas?

sweet.. it works now.. it appears that having the default_v200 in the pepper directory was causing a redefinition error which prevented the index from loading.. removing that dir allowed me to continue..

searching the forum i see that the error I posted above is not critical..

spoke too soon.. it doesn’t appear to be logging anything.. this is really odd..

it appears that even though db.php is correct and the .htaccess points to the correct one.. that it’s still logging to the old db/tables.. (the mint install is still working so i checked the old ver)

Is the table prefix correct in your db.php?

yes.. copying the minty folder to mint (moving old 1.2x mint to mint-old) fixed it.. however I now have a minty and mint folder .. it appears to be logging data now that mint is pointing to the new db.php in the mint\ folder..

sorry to be so confusing..
