Mint 'undefined' error

For some reason, my mint install is having an affair with the word ‘undefined’: flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=2206054758&size=o

This seems weird. I have no idea what’s causing it.

For reference, mint is installed at mint.domain.net - and the sites calling it appear at various parts of domain.net. I have tons of peppers installed, but my first few test pageloads from different sources and things right after I installed mint, with no peppers, showed the same problem, so it can’t be a pepper causing it, unless it’s one of the default ones distributed with mint.

That’s odd. Never seen that before. I suggest installing the Debugger Pepper to see if you can track down the source of all those undefined (which could be the result of a browser user intentionally hiding their referrer data). Mint wouldn’t default to a value of 'undefined'. If any of those values listed as undefined were truly undefined Mint would not record the visit. It could also be a browser returning undefined for the properties used to retrieve those values.

I’m now seeing this error on all three of my current mint installations - both the one in the screenshot, a second one on the same server running paralell, and a third that’s been running over a year, and is on a totally different server, set up differently from these two. I have no idea what could be causing it.

What debug pepper were you talking about?

Also, I am now seeing it on a 4th mint install. Again, on a different server than any of the three mentioned previously. This is beginning to creep me out.

Is there some new bot going around identifying itself as undefined to mint specifically or something?

I installed the debugger as well, and it doesn’t really show me anything helpful. Also, I know this isn’t a bot or anything, because my own visits to a test page with a test fresh mint install are showing up as undefined.

Test mint install: http://stats.yreality.net Test mint’s debugger: http://stats.yreality.net/pepper/shauni … tEQ5piATXQ

Test page: http://stats.yreality.net

Sorry about the 4-post-in-serial - but I also just uninstalled every pepper I have installed, and new hits from myself still showed up as undefined. So it is a problem in core mint, not a pepper or the requesting system (me).

Try uploading a fresh copy of /mint/app/. This is not a known-issue in “core” Mint. What browser are you using? Have you tried other browsers?
