Error in visit count (lots of extra, non-existent visits)

Looking at my stats today, there’s more than 1,000 unique visitors whose source I can’t track (no significant referrers or searches). Yesterday was a very high traffic day (I released new songs on my website) but today’s traffic is unexpected and can’t be accounted for.

I’ve cross referenced this with Awstats, the figures are 741 visits/6744 pages for yesterday (in line with Mint); and 369/5223 for today.

What can be happening? I’ve opened up my mint statitics if you want to take a look: stormymondays.com/mint

Last things I did yesterday were installing the new peppers Directories, Local Searches and Visits Diff. I also added mail.live.com and mail.yahoo.com to the “don’t show referrals” in order to block webmail referrals (unsuccessfully it seems).

I’m also having some problems with the Downloads pepper but Till is already looking into it (thanks!).

Any help will be much appreciated.

Ok, I take that back. I have another tracker that is also showing a lot of visits. I’m guessing it’s visitors that clicked on a link from my mailing list.
