Secret Crush Pepper Name/IP Problem

We’re not using Wordpress, phpBB or anything else. I say this because a lot of times these applications won’t share their cookies, so that cause is off the table.

We’re setting the cookie mint_email for Secret Crush to track.

The cookie is getting set, and it is expiring in 1 hour.

Problem:

Secret Crush gets the cookie, and identifies it with the user, but this only happens when I have it to display Name only in the pepper’s settings.

If I have it set to Name/IP it will only show the IP address and not the name. It is not a question of the cookie expiring since I’m testing it out in a matter of seconds after creating the cookie.

I couldn’t find anything on the forum that answered this question, but I did see a few people with similar problems.

Thanks, David

This is probably caused by Secret Crush encountering the pre-cookied visit first when grouping resulting in it displaying the IP address instead of the cookied name established on a subsequent page view.

I’ll take a look at the Crushes SQL and see if I can’t optimize it to eliminate this problem.

Hi Shaun, Did you come up for a solution for this?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Shaun,

I also am having this issue, so any update on whether you have been able to resolve this (or not) would be great.

Thanks heaps!
