Update: Trends 2.1

Trends is now compatible with Mint 2.0! Over the past two days I’ve managed to reduce Trend’s code by 27%, while getting Trends up to snuff with the latest Mint user interface guidelines. While Brett and I haven’t gotten to adding any Mint 2.0 specific features yet, you can expect those in the coming weeks. I’m just feeling under the weather at the moment, and am just happy just to get the UI updated.

None of the links seemed to prompt the download.

Oops, I forgot to upload the file. It’s uploaded. I told you I wasn’t feeling good.

I had to change the permissions on the up and down arrow gifs before they would display properly in Mint, but otherwise things are working fine! Thanks cavemonkey.

Looking good and works a treat. As always.

I also had to change the permissions, but this is outstanding. Really nice work.

since1968, you’re the second person to tell me that. Were the permissions wrong fro the up and down images? What OS are you using?

I’m using OS X as my client and FreeBSD on the server. The permissions were originally 500; I changed them to 755 to get them working.

To chime in again, I’m also on OS X and my server is FreeBSD.

Hmm, I have no clue what’s causing the permission issue. I’m on OS X also and I used BetterZip to create the archives. I updated to the latest version and recreated the archive. Could someone check to see if that fixed the permission problem.

For those of you having permission issues, I have uploaded new ZIPs. There was a bug in my ZIP program of choice, BetterZip. The permission occured for users on Mac OS X using ZIP programs other than the default BOMArchiveHelper (including BetterZip). The bug will be fixed soon, but in the meantime I used an automator script to create a clean archive.

If you downloaded the latest Trends release and meet these requirements, redownload the ZIP now. It should work.

I use CleanArchiver for all the official releases and have never had a problem with permissions. It’s a PowerPC app but it runs fine on my Intel MacBook Pro.

Thanks for the suggestion Shaun. I’ll keep that in my mind for the next clean archive I need to make.

I’m using this on two different domains and on one of them, I’m only seeing the Internal Trends panel. The external is just not showing up anywhere. Is there a dependency on some other pepper (Crushes, for instance) that is breaking this on one of my installations?

Some people are reporting disappearing panes after updating. I’m trying to track down what might be causing the conflict. Could you post the Pepper you have installed on each?

On my personal site (which is working correctly):

Visits Referrers Pages Searches Sparks Outclicks Session Tracker Pathstats Geo Mint Fresh View User Agents Trends Internal XXX Strong Mint Crushes Local Searches Trends External

On my work site where Trends External is missing:

Visits Referrers Pages Searches Outclicks Session Tracker Pathstats XXX Strong Mint Trends Internal Sparks Referrer Aggregator Fresh View User Agents

Installed but disabled: Local Searches Crushes
