Pepper track Download Source

I am currently using the Download Pepper v2.02 and overall I like it. However it does not track where the download requests are originated from.

Does anyone know of a pepper that will tell me what the sources are? i.e. 12 downloads from iusethis.com, 15 downloads from versiontracker.com, etc.?

I’ll think about this.

I would greatly appreciate it and would be willing to discuss with you, offline, what it would take to make this happen.

I am a independent software vendor and knowing where downloads are coming from is extremely useful information.

Is someone else interested in this?

That would be nic to have!

Thanks for the update to the Downloads pepper. However, I am not seeing any referrers on it yet. Is this expected? Do local/direct downloads not show up?

After some testing on my end, it appears that all outside links work perfectly (yay!). However, it would be nice if direct downloads showed up as well.

Thank you very much for adding this feature — it is great!

eeh, what do you mean?
what are “direct downloads” and where should they be displayed?

Now that I have more data it is a little odd.

I have 1 (and only one) that does not show a source. If I add up the hits from the referrers page it is exactly one less than the downloads counter. At first I thought this was because the referrers were not tracking downloads directly from my site. However I now see that is not the case.

At this point, that one download is insignificant unless it starts repeating. I will know more in a few days.

Are you planning on adding the time filter to the referrers tab?

Being able to filter it like the Referrers Pepper (repeat tab) would make this perfect for mel.

Till,

The latest release is amazing! Exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you for all of your hard work on this.
