i am using mint 2.15

i tried to install locations+ 1.01 in firefox, the screen just turns blank (white), and nothing happens…

the app is not installed. (i tired uploading the .dat database as either ascii or binary, still not work)

i checked the database in mysql, i see several new columns such as country_name, region_name, city_name.

i am using locations now…

questions: 1. how do i fix this? 2. which data columns does locations+ add to my mint database? 3. i see there is a table called mint_locations but it is empty, should i delete this?

please help.

1) I think you can’t fix this. Mail me FTP access to my pepper folder and I’ll check out whats wrong.

2) country_name, region_name and city_name

3) Normally the counts of all countries, regions and cities will be stored in the table mint_locations.

hi, till,

thanks for the offer.

is it possible for you to tell where to check and i can post the answers here, rather than setting up a ftp access (which will take time) for you..

i have used mysql to delete the extra columns of the data such as country_name etc…

mint is now working ok with locations (but without locations+)

should i wait for your next release?

I can’t figure out whats the problem in your case, without having (S)FTP access - sorry.

I’m Till and my domain is pralinenschachtel.de. It’s exactly what you’d think it is.

I was able to find the cause of the install error. It is due to an outdated Secret Crush pepper currently in my install. The fix is to upgrade to Secret Crush 2.1 BEFORE installing Locations+. Till has been most helpful in helping me to find this fix. He has also confirmed that this is related to a function in Locations+ that is only available in 2.1 but not earlier version of Secret Crush.
