Non-ascii characters in Locations+ and Outbound Links peppers

My Locations+ and Outbound Links peppers are truncating words when they find an ascii character.

Locations+ example:

Brazil / Sao Paulo / S

Portugal / Porto / Grij

Portugal / Setubal / Set

instead of

Brazil / Sao Paulo / São Paulo

Portugal / Porto / Grijó

Portugal / Setubal / Setúbal

Outbound Links example:

From Liga

instead of

From Ligações

In this last case it could be because I am using html entities in my title tags.

Could it be some misconfiguration on my part?

Do you notice the same issue in the Pages Pepper? Worst case scenario, you might see garbled characters but it shouldn’t get truncated.

No. Pages Pepper works smoothly. I only notice this on the above mentioned peppers.

Can you post or email me a couple urls containing the links that are exhibiting the issue?

Here it is: http://enfado.org/ligacoes

As for the Locations+ could it be an encoding problem in the database file?

What platform, browser and version are you using? I’ve created a local copy of that page and hooked it up to a local Mint install with the Outbound Pepper installed and I can’t seem to recreate the issue.

Windows XP32 SP2 and it’s happening with either Firefox 3 and Opera 9.5.

I haven’t been able to find the source of this problem. Are you using mod_rewrite on your server? Have you tried disabling it for your Mint directory?
