Bit of an odd one this. When trying to download the lastest Trends pepper from the Peppermill, it seems to download junior mint instead everytime.

Now as good as junior mint is, I already have it and would prefer an updated version of Trends! Any suggestions!?

I just tried downloading Trends and did not have an issue. I think I know what you’re doing though. On the far right of the screen is a promotion for Junior Mint which includes a download link. The download for trends is to the right of the header.

What an idiot I am! Maybe I need to get some glasses.

Thanks Ronald!

I love this Pepper, but I’m hoping you can fix some basic math and counting issues.

For example, my current screen tells me that Page A has 99 hits, but when I click on it, I get 91 hits for the past seven days and 97 hits for the seven days previous to that. It tells me that the page is up 1 percent.

There appear to be two problems here:

1) 99 does not equal 91.

2) The up-1-percent is wrong, whichever number it’s using. 99/97 is up 2 percent; 91/97 is down 6 percent.

Another example: Page B lists 23 hits, and 23 hits in the past seven days. The previous seven days, it was 69. Down 75 percent, it says. So we don’t have the discrepancy between the main view and the past-seven-days view, but we do have a math problem. 23/69 is down 67 percent, not 75 percent.

I’d love to see these bugs fixed or — if they’re not bugs — have the methodology explained.

Thanks again!

I assume when you say “click on it”, you’re referring to the page history drop down. There is normally a slight discrepancy between the page history numbers and what’s displayed outside of page history due to the different methods of counting.

The hits are counted in absolute time frames. For example, using the past seven days on a page at this moment would give me a total of all the hits from 4:14PM today to 4:14PM on April 19th. It’s counting backwards exactly seven days from the current time.

Page history on the other hand counts from midnight on the given day. Using the same example, page history is counting the hits from 4:14PM today to 12:00AM on April 20th.

Due to the difference in counting methods, rarely will the numbers line up. The only time the numbers will line is up is when you’re close to midnight but not passed midnight yet.

I hope this makes for you.

That explains the discrepancy in numbers. Thanks.

It doesn’t explain the inaccurate math, though.

Again, percent is being calculated based off the absolute time frame. Using my previous example, the percent is based off 4:14PM today to 4:14PM April 19th compared to 4:14PM April 19th to 4:14PM April 12th.

I just verified the numbers used in the calculation and the resulting percent is correct. If you would like to very the numbers yourself, add the following code right after the ; on line 286:

echo $daterange1["total"] . '/' . $daterange2["total_temp"] . "|";

Ronald: Thanks.
