Mint 2.16 and Locations/LocationsPlus pepper

I just upgraded to 2.16 with some other pepper updates, and then the Mint preferences interface gave me an error message that it couldn’t find the (previously recognized) Locations pepper. I uninstalled the pepper, re-uploaded it, and Mint didn’t recognize it. I uploaded LocationsPlus, and Mint didn’t recognize that, either.

Anybody else having similar troubles?

I updated to mint 2.16 too. Also updated various other peppers by Shaun Inman (all he released today except bird feeder) and locations pepper works fine, just like before the upgrade!

What I’ve notices is that locations after updating peppers does not appear in crushes pane! The locations pane shows the locations though!

Yeah, Shaun did reset the registrants in 2.11.
I have no idea why. I’ll fix this after Shaun tell us his reason.

Till, I don’t appreciate the smugness. There is no “reason.” I didn’t do it intentionally. It was a simple error involving a version number comparison—something you of all people should be able to relate to. I just posted an update that checks for the correct version so anyone who hasn’t updated yet won’t be affected when they do.

Any suggestions for getting Mint to recognize Locations and LocationsPlus so that I can install them? After I uninstalled Locations and re-uploaded it and then uploaded LocationsPlus, I can’t get the preferences to even give me the “Install” option.

Oh! I’m sorry, that came over the wrong way.
I decided to wait until I know why the registrants were reseted.

Updating to version 2.12, but locations does not appear in crushes tab! Any solution for us who updated to version 2.11 and then to 2.12? Thanks in advance!

Just wait for the next release of Locations and/or Locations+.

Culture Snob, can you see any other Pepper in the Preferences? If not, make sure that you have removed any /peppername_old/ directories left over from the updates. Also make sure that you are uploading each Pepper into the correct developer directory.

Actually, the problem with installing was a permissions problem caused by my FTP software. Stupid me. Always check permissions.

Shaun: I didn’t have problems with any other Pepper.

None of that addresses why I got an error with Locations, saying it was missing some component, when I upgraded to Mint 2.16, but that’s irrelevant at this point.

Hey all. I just now downloaded most recent versions of mint+peppers I had installed (including Locations) and I had this same problem. (Mint complaining that it couldn’t find “TK_Locations” in /pepper/tillkruess/locations/)

I had to poke the locations pepper (remove locations files, recopy locations files, etc.) several times to make the problem go away.

But now, none of my Mint installations will show the Locations pane. It just spins infinitely without loading anything.

I’m really hoping my Locations data isn’t gone…

For now, I’ve put back the old version of the Locations pepper… It seems to be working, and none of my old data is gone…
