Some visits are duplicate - how can I troubleshoot this?

This has been bugging me forever. It seems some of my visits are tracked twice by Mint. In the Most Recent Referrers and Searches tab, it’s very common to see the same Google search twice (in both panes), or simply the same referrer twice, if it’s not a search.

Any ideas what may be causing this and how can I troubleshoot it? It doesn’t happen to every visitor though.

This is usually the result of a visitor using the back/forward buttons on their browser and unless it is happening for every single hit difficult to troubleshoot.

what happens when you see it happening for every hit? what do you attribute that to? thanks shaun.

Odd - I’ve recently noticed this as well which is why I’ve visited today. I don’t recollect this always being a problem, but began to notice that each visit similar to stormy seems to be tracked in duplicate. Feel free to check out my stats at left coast by design.

wenwon, that’s usually a good indication that you have two Mint JavaScript includes on your pages (or that those pages contain an iframe that is also being tracked by Mint).

Which is exactly what lyteforce has.

Thanks Shaun.

I’m embarrassed not to have figured that out on my own.

I am seeing the same problem - much more pronounced - my numbers are closer to 3x.

and I do not have multiple mint js files being included and no iframes. There is html being replaced via AJAX though (replaced content does NOT contain the mint JS script tag though)..

the site is billshrink.com
