Mint stats vs. ShortStat stats

Today is the first full day running Mint on my blog, and the stats I’m getting from Mint are far lower than those I’m getting from ShortStat (125 uniques in ShortStat, 10 in Mint). Also, Mint isn’t picking up any referrer links, while ShortStat shows 12 referrer links. My feed hits aren’t showing up either. Any ideas as to why there’s such a big discrepancy between my unique visitor numbers or why my referrers and feed hits aren’t showing up? http://ronpaulchronicles.com

I know that different stat programs will report different results, but I’m just wondering why two stat programs that I’m assuming work the same way would report two vastly different numbers. I’, not so much worried about the total hits, but my uniques between the two programs are way off. Does Mint count uniques in a different way than ShortStat did?

Yes, Shortstat and Mint are two completely different stat programs.

Mint uses JavaScript to track visitors, this makes it more accurate and more efficient as things like robots, crawlers et al. will not be tracked because they are not running JS.

Mint was created because of Shortstat’s failings in that its stats were severely inflated with inaccurate data.

OK, I am just trying to make sure none of my visitors got lost laong the way :)
