Announcing the Feedburner Pepper for Mint 2

Hi Ron, the multiple URL support is a neat addition and graphs are brilliant! Good stuff.

Adding and removing multiple feeds seems to be working fine here, no problems at all. Caching still working fine, and graphing with and without caching is also all good.

The only issue I have is that if I select feed2 in Overview, when I go to the Past Week tab it remembers my last selected feed. Trying to view all of feed2s tabs requires me to first select the tab, then the feed. Not sure if this is even an issue, but I’d love to be able to select feed2 in overview and when selecting all other tabs feed2 is already selected.

Unfortunately, there is no way that I’m aware to overcome that functionality. Bird Feeder acts the same way when switching tabs. It’s because tab settings are stored in a cookie, and if no cookie exists for that tab, the first tab is selected.

One more thing I would like people to test. Tonight marks the end of a week, and since Feedburner’s data is delayed, I want to insure the week switchover goes as planned.

Tomorrow the current week should still read as this week, yet display last week’s results. Let me know if that does not occur. I will be working on improving the time detection shorty, so tomorrow will read Last Week until it has data for Sunday.

I just submitted the final version to the Peppermill. It should appear shortly for download.

Changes for the last beta:

  • Better cache directory detection
  • Abides by Mint UI standards better

Ronald, my UI looks different from the screenshot in the peppermill (I installed the last version). “Past month” and “Past year” with green background doesn’t appear in my pepper. Just take a look at the screenshot:

By the way, I’m using Firefox & Opera (Windows).

That’s interesting Scailay. Does your visits pane do the same thing?

Yes, everything works fine.

I tried selecting everything in the pepper and pasting it into a text editor, and then everything appears. So Pasth month and Past year are present, but not visible.

That’s very weird. Would you mind sending me the cached output? Email it to ron (@) cavemonkey50 // com.

You’re not running any third party themes, correct? Also, I know you had the beta. Did the beta display correctly?

You have a mail :)

By the way, the beta displayed the same way this version, that’s why I thought it was normal… Until I saw the screenshot in the Peppermill.

Hi!

What should I enter into “Feedburner IDs”? I’ve tried several options, but none of them seems to work (I don’t get any data…).

These are my Feedburner settings:

Feed title: Japhy.at Original feed: japhy.at/feed Feed address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Japhyat

Thank’s a lot!

Joerg

You should just enter Japhyat as the Feedburner ID.

Are you getting any errors at all or just a blank pane? If you have a blank pane, what does adding ?errors at the end of your Mint URL display?

I’m encountering a weird problem where it’s listing the last month twice (ie its not May, but lists April as March in addition as March as March). It also lists the days wrong. Yesterday was Saturday but is listed as Friday, the day before that should be Friday but is listed as Thursday… and on and on. Any idea whats wrong?

Could you provide me with your the following details:

  • Your blog’s URL
  • Your Feedburner address

I’m aware that the days are off. Feedburner is always a day off on reporting your subscription count. If you view your Feedburner stats directly, you’ll see that today Feedburner is reporting yesterday’s (Saturday) stats.

To make matters even more confusing, Feedburner is slow at generating the previous day’s statistics. So, up until 3AM PST the statistics are actually two days off. I list the day’s name specifically for that reason, so you know what day you’re looking at.

However, the months should not be off, which is why I’d like to see what Feedburner is reporting for your feed. Months should list the current month as This Month, with the rest of the months in reverse order. The only exception would be the day after a month is over, when This Month actually means Last Month due to the slow Feedburner reporting.

my blogs url is slashfilm.com feeds.feedburner.com/slashfilm

I know that feedburner is a day off, I’m not saying that I’m saying that today is Sunday, it should be reporting yesterday as Saturday but intead it says Friday. Its reporting Fridays stats as Thursday and so on.

And the month thing is different. All the months are correct except for last month is called March instead of april. March is still called March too. So it shows there are two Marches. I could send you a screenshot?

You can see a screenshot of what I’m talking about taken today (Sunday) at slashfilm.com/wp/wp-content/images/feedburner.jpg

Would you mind sending me an email at ron (@t) cavemonkey50 (d0t) com. I’d like to send you a version with some debugging information which will help track down the problem.
