Help: differences beteen Mint Report and other web stat report on visits

Hello,

We installed the Mint 2.03 and the latest peppers to one of our client. But the mint reported on the visits panel a lot different compared to the other web stat report - Webalizer. Please see the details below.

Mint installation date: Mar 04 Sun morning.

Until Mar 8 Mint shows 27 visits in total while Webalizer stats show a total of 6,722 visits for March, an average of 840 per day.

From what we have observed, the mint could not always log the our visits. Could you help us figure out the reasons?

The client is globisData.ca.

Currently we configured the site domain(s) in the preferences as “globisdata.ca, drivestoronto.ca, drivesmontreal.ca”. Will that cause a problem?

Many thanks,

FindMy

I can’t see the Mint javascript on any of the pages. Are you sure it has been included properly as per the instructions?

Finny is correct. I do not see the Mint JavaScript include on any of your pages.

Also the domains that you have added to the Site Domain(s) must be mirrors of the same content (which does not appear to be the case) or your stats will not be accurate.

Thank you for the support first. But I still have questions.

How can I konw which script to be added? I don’t see any instructions about it in the Readme.txt file which I followed to install a fresh mint on the site.

And about the Site Domain(s), shall I remove the last two names?

Thanks,

FindMy

Is this the script content?

I’ve added it to the site pages, before the meta tags. Also I’ve change the Site Domain(s) to “globisData.ca”. Hopefully it works.

Thank you very much

Oh, the script doesn’t show. Let me post it in another way.

In the [] is the line of script:

[”]

Above line is the javascript.

Forgive me. I don’t know how to show it here.

The two domains drivestoronto.ca, drivesmontreal.ca are redirected to two pages of the GlobisData site, which means the contents are exactly the same. Can I add them back to the Site Domain(s)?

Regads,

FindMy, in your Mint Preference you can find a link to the last step of the installation instructions (the same instructions that were presented to you after installing Mint).

Regarding the additional Site Domain(s), your two .ca domains are not mirrors of the GlobisData site. They may be redirects to the different pages on the GlobisData site but they are not identical mirrors and including them in the list of Site Domain(s) will corrupt your visit data.

A mirror domain is defined as such that:

domain1.com/dir/page.html

is the same page as

domain2.com/dir/page.html

The way you have it set-up

domain2.com/

is the same as

domain1.com/dir/page.html

Mint is going to record hits to

domain2.com/

as a hit to

domain1.com/

not

domain1.com/dir/page.html
