Secret Crush speed

Hi all,

Does anyone else have loading issues with the Crushes pane? It takes orders of magnitude longer for the Crushes pane to load than the rest of Mint (seconds for everything else, upwards of a minute for the Crushes pane). Is there something I can do to speed it up?

I used to have (what I assume was) a related problem with Nametags back with Mint 1.x. XXX Strong Mint was always speedy, so I used to stick with that, but now that an officially supported pepper is out (and the Strong Mint developer stopped developing it), I have migrated to Secret Crush.

My database is quite small, and I have it set to only display 15 rows. Any thoughts?

The delay is caused by the hostname lookup. XXX Strong Mint was speedy because it performed the lookup during record, pushing that delay onto your visitors and potentially resulting in missed concurrent hits and corrupted config data.

I’ll be releasing an update to Secret Crush this afternoon that caches this information and should speed things up.

…that caches this information…

Stored in the db? (please say ‘yes’)

Yes, in a separate table, indexed by ip_long.

The update did indeed do the trick. Thanks Shaun!
