Feature Request for Secret Crushes

Hi Shaun,

your plugin Secret Crushes brings a lot of functionality.

In Mint 1.x we had this functions within three different plugins;

xxx Strongmint - for resolving the hostnames

Sessiontracker - for seeing what is going on

Nametag - for recognicing the known useres

There are two features from the old plugins i would love to see in Secret Crushes:

1 - Sessiontracker was showing the referrer (when there is one) in the main view and even the searchwords when the referrer came form a known searchengine. I could see that without clicking on the session.

2 - A new tab in Secret Crushes that shows only the known users and aggregates their Sessions (exactly like within Nametag) would be very nice.

I bet there are a lot of users out there who would also like to have that.

Maybee you can implement this in one of the next releases ?

I think that secret crush was designed to keep track of your registered/ remembered users rather than tracking them as visitors. So things like refferers will be stored in the referrers pane.

Just a thought.

  1. Adding the Referrer to the unexpanded accordion-view in the Most Recent tab would violate the way accordion-view works. Clicking anywhere on the row expands the view. By adding a clickable referrer link that behavior becomes the potentially confusing click-anywhere-but-on-the-Referrer. Interfaces get their strength from consistency not exceptions. (This addition would also increase the number of queries necessary to build the view.)

  2. If you select “Identify visitors by Name”, every tab will only show named or known visitors. Unfortunately the variety of ways this information can be presented results in a “never please everyone” situation.

I’m not writing your suggestions off wholesale, Secret Crush will continue evolve. I will revisit this thread as it does.

shaun,

another feature request for secret crush is the ability to search for a specific IP and then display entries for that IP, much like the now nonfunctioning XXX. this is a feature i miss a lot and since xxx author is no where to be seen, perhaps you can incorporate this search in your next verion.
