I’m finding myself checking Mint every X hours looking for new refferrs (call me a mint junky).
Is there any pepper which can notify me via email without checking the stats?

Not currently, but it could be a potential Pepper.
Currently there is the RSS Feed, a Growl Pepper (if you are on OSX) and Shauns Doorbell Pepper that are great notifiers.
