Escaped Characters in URLs and Page Tiles in Mint

for example in mint, facebook’s url will display like this…

http%3A//www.facebook.com

where %3A is the HEX value for a colon (:)

Problem seems confined to colons (%3A), spaces (%20), and pipes (%7C), but may be other characters too.

What do I need to do to solve this issue?

Hey I’m getting the same thing. Installed mint and get a 404 for some reason. (tootit.com/mint/)

How can I trouble shoot a 404?

Most of the sites were infected recently with malware (most of the php’s injected with malware code).

One of the sites happens to be a forum which uses vBulletin. Even this was infected - a fresh install of vBulletin software fixed the issue, but only temporarily.

After a day or 2, again all the files were infected and couple of users posted snapshot of Mint.js infected as well.

So in attempt no 3, I cleared up vbulletin and mint and did a fresh install. Again after couple of days, files ended up being injected with malware !!

In attempt 4, I removed mint (did not reinstall) and just installed vbulletin. And now there seems to be no issue with malware!

Is it possible that malware is in mint DB? If yes, is there any way to scan/clear without losing the analytics data. Please suggest

Don’t worry, you are :-)

I meant in the referrer plugin inside of Mint — that should be able to do just that. A little bit of regex could fix that. Well now, might look into it myself now…

This would work using “Method 3” as described on Till Kruess’ website: http://tillkruess.com/projects/pepper/d … umentation

I did a similar configuration using nginx (that doesn’t know about .htaccess, so its rewrite rules aren’t probably of much use), and it’s working fine.

How to track files which appear in Google's search?

How can i track downloaded files through a Google search? E.g. a pdf file appearing in a Google search and downloaded from there but not from a visit on the website itself, which then Mint would track this download.

Obviously mint can’t track these directly linked files, but is there a way with a redirect command in a htaccess file or so? My idea is that that

home.com/file.pdf (appearing in the Google search results)

redirects to

home.com/file.html

and then someone can download it manually or automatically but with tracking the numbers of downloads through mint. Is that possible or how would you do it?

if i’m understanding you correctly, that is something that quite a few seo professionals (like myself) would like to have the ability to do. at this point, that’s not possible.

according to the google, this was supposed to effect anywhere from 5 to 9% of search results but are numbers are closer to 20%.

there’s not much you can do about it.

Now, as the search term is known, maybe it would be possible to link to a generic Google search query instead of to this obscured referrer?

Hi, wondering if I am doing something wrong, or have somthing setup incorrectly?

For example, here is a url in my Referrers Tab

Another from Crushes 108.18.141.8 On Myrick%20Visual%20LLC%20%7C%20Professional%20Media%20and%20Video%20Production%20in%20the%20Minneapolis%20/%20Twin%20Cities%20metro.

Obviously our page titles and urls dont actually look like this…

Im running centos, suPHP, php 5.3x.
